The Misfits

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.

BT 1 - Stowaways on the Red Tide
The PCs must brave the wrath of Captain Grayven to find the first piece of the treasure map

On 21 Desnus, 4712 AR, The Misfit left the docks of Eleder, capital of Sargava in search of treasure. Captain Mathieu Belmonte has recently learned the whereabouts of the five pieces of Blackmoor’s Treasure Map. Determining that the time is ripe, he has sent messages to six of his previous accomplices and asked them to meet him in the closest port and join him in this adventure.

The first of his recruits are Aessa Lindjere and Bredon Harrow. Aessa was recommended to him by Larkin Quill, who said that she was a hunter and tracker of the topmost skill. Bredon is along on the quest in the hopes of proving him to the Pathfinder Society so that Venture-Captain Fenze Bellough will promote him to full Pathfinder status.

Their first port of call will be Crown’s End, followed by: Port Freedom, Senghor, and lastly Bloodcove.

BT 1 - Welcome to Bloodcove
The group has assembled, now they must brave the dangerous streets of Bloodcove to find the first piece of the treasure map

The Misfit heads first to Senghor to find two men that Captain Belmonte wishes to recruit for his team. Both Xander Corrington and Rodmin Quicksilver are located without much trouble. Xander was found in a gambling hall and, due to the rough nature of two of the men he’d been gambling with, Three-fingered Jack and One-eyed Bill, it was rather prudent to remove himself from their vicinity (despite soundly defeating them at cards). Belmonte quickly found Rodmin in the small shop that he had been renting out and plying his trade as an alchemist. Both men were ready for adventure and agreed to join.

The next stop was the free port of Bloodcove, where Belmonte attempted to find Cinter Ehlwinden / Orno only to run into difficulty. A rather large and intimidating minotaur came to The Misfit and said that he was there in Cinter’s place. Belmonte thanked him for the offer, but that he was specifically looking for the gnome.

Later that evening, Belmonte told the group a little about Captain Lars Blackmoor and the legend of his buried treasure. If they would help him find the five pieces of the treasure map, he’ll cut them in on a fair share of the treasure and they’ll be able to reap not just monetary rewards, but also the fame and prestige. The group agreed and set out to The Witchlight, an inn where the current holder of one of the pieces of the map, Captain Reed Grayven, is staying with some of his men. In the meantime, the strange minotaur had approached Belmonte again and revealed a story that only Belmonte and the gnome Cinter would know, thus confirming the good Captain’s suspicions that this creature was indeed, somehow, the gnome. He welcomed him aboard the ship and filled him in on the details.

At the Witchlight, the group (Rodmin, Xander, Aessa, and Bredon) took their time casing the place and finding out information. Xander talked to an old sailor by the name of Reeftide and learned a few things about Captain Grayven and The Red Tide, not to mention the captain of the ship Lord Dagon, Captain Grace. They never got a chance to see Captain Grayven, although they did see two of his crew, first mate Yellow-eye and bosun Temarren. The bosun is a sniveling cowardly looking man, and a few of the group deduced that they might be able to obtain some information from him, somehow.

After finding out all they could, they retired back to The Misfit for the rest of the night and then to make their plans on the following morning.

BT 1 - Plots, plans, and brothels

Deciding that Temarren, the bosun of The Red Tide was the best way to gain information about Captain Grayven and the piece of the map, they came up with a complicated plan to ambush him in one of the local brothels. After an investigation of the brothel, where Bredon agreed to be the payment for the matron of the establishment (but for the night only), the PCs found out that while Temarren does frequent this place, he had recently been kicked out by the matron and, once that happens, he usually avoids the place until the next time the ship is in port.

Realizing that their plan wouldn’t work, they decided to use Aessa as the honeypot and lure Temarren to a dark and secluded spot, which actually worked. Aessa lured him out onto a long and lonely stretch of the docks and got him to ingest a concoction brewed up by Rod, which caused him to be violently sick. Xander and Rod arrived and convinced Temarren that he was poisoned and that they were the only ones who had the antidote. He then told them that Captain Grayven had decided to sell his part of the map to Black Lorren, a notoriously deadly pirate captain who commands not just one, but three ships. They also found out that two of Black Lorren’s men, Marq Piper and Tiger Jericho, were in port and were supposed to make sure this meeting and sale took place. The PCs then bound Temarren, dumped him in a dingy, and set him adrift in the bay.

Meanwhile, Orno came up with a plan of his own and disregarding any amount of finesse or subtly, marched straight into the Witchlight and tried to get Captain Grayven to show him the piece of the map. However, Orno attempted to be mysterious and not reveal the name of his employer/the potential buyer, which did not work at all. Grayven, now suspicious that someone else is after the map, had Orno escorted outside.
